Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the SadHost website, control panel and game server hosting service. By creating an account you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. The service
SadHost provides free Minecraft Java and Valheim game server hosting through a web panel. The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis while we are in beta, without warranties of any kind. We may add, change or remove features, node locations or supported games at any time.
Servers are free of charge. Optional in-site credits ("SadCoins") unlock extras such as installing a modpack or pre-generating a world; see SadCoins & Refunds for how those work.
2. Your account
- You must provide a valid email address and keep your login credentials secure.
- You are responsible for everything that happens on your account and on your servers.
- One person should not create multiple accounts to bypass server or resource limits. Accounts are limited per person and per network; automated or bulk account creation is not allowed.
- We may suspend accounts that are inactive for a long period in order to protect node capacity; servers that stay idle are hibernated and, if never woken, removed on the published schedule.
- You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use the service.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the service to:
- Run anything other than legitimate game servers and their normal supporting services.
- Host, mine or distribute malware, phishing pages, botnets or illegal content.
- Use the service for cryptocurrency mining, traffic or credential attacks (DDoS, port scanning, brute forcing) or any other CPU or network abuse.
- Attempt to bypass the CPU, memory, disk or slot limits assigned to your server, or interfere with other customers' servers.
- Send unsolicited bulk messages or use the platform for spam.
- Reverse engineer, overload, scrape or resell the panel itself.
Servers found hosting abusive workloads may be stopped without prior warning where the stability of the platform or other customers is at risk.
4. Your content and backups
You own the files, worlds and configurations on your servers. You are responsible for their legality and for keeping your own backups — always download worlds you care about. Reinstalls, resets, hibernation cleanups and deleting a server can permanently remove files, and free plans are not a backup service.
You grant us only the limited rights needed to store, transfer and process your files so that we can run your server (for example writing the world to disk, restarting the container or creating a backup you requested).
5. Fair use and resources
Free servers include limited CPU, memory and disk. Running permanently overloaded workloads, creating excessive numbers of entities or chunks, or keeping servers online purely to consume resources may result in your server being stopped or your account suspended. Where it is possible to do so without putting the platform at risk, we will warn you first.
6. Advertising on public pages
Our public content pages (blog articles, guides and policy pages) may display third-party advertising, which is part of how free hosting is funded. Advertising never appears inside the control panel or on your server's console pages. Please do not click ads artificially or attempt to manipulate advertising on our site.
7. Availability and changes
We aim for high uptime but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service, in particular during maintenance, node migrations, upstream game updates or events outside our control. We may change these Terms as the service grows; material changes are announced on the site, and continued use after a change means you accept the new Terms.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, that threaten the stability of the platform, or that are used to attack or abuse other services. You may delete your server or ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing support@sadhost.com.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SadHost is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, including lost worlds, lost player data, lost profits or loss of goodwill arising from your use of a free service. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
