Before you write: three 30-second checks
- Read the install log. Open your server in the panel and check the console or the install log first — most "server will not start" cases are explained there in plain language (wrong Java version, missing acceptance of an EULA, a plugin that targets another Minecraft version).
- Search the guides. The Helpdesk covers the panel (creating servers, installers, versions, hibernation, SadCoins) and the blog covers gameplay and performance topics such as lag and low TPS.
- Try a restart, then a reinstall. A restart clears most stuck containers, and a reinstall repairs corrupted game files. Download your world first if you are not sure.
What to include so we can actually help
- Your SadHost username or the account email address.
- The server name or its short identifier as shown in the panel URL.
- What you expected to happen, and what happened instead — including the exact error text.
- The last ~20 lines of the console or install log, pasted as text (not as a screenshot of a phone).
- Anything you changed just before it broke: a new plugin, a version switch, a world upload, a modpack install.
What we will never ask for
We will never ask for your password, your Discord token or your panel API key. Never share those with anyone, including someone claiming to be staff — ask in Discord first if a request feels unusual.
Common requests, answered in one line
- "Can I get more RAM?" Free servers include 5 GB. Upgrade tiers are coming; join Discord to hear when they land.
- "My server was deleted." Servers that stay idle are hibernated and eventually cleaned up. Waking a server before that happens keeps it alive — see the 24/7 guide.
- "Can I have a domain instead of an IP?" Yes — reserve a free subdomain from the panel. See this guide.
- "Can I import my old world?" Yes — ZIP it and use the file manager's Extract button. See this guide.

For copyright complaints or content hosted by a customer, email support@sadhost.com with the subject "Copyright" and include the server address, the material concerned and a statement that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them. We act on valid reports. Our own terms are in the Terms of Service and our data practices in the Privacy Policy.
